Concrete Pumps

REED has been manufacturing concrete placing equipment since 1957. Reed concrete pumps are used world wide and offer both superior performance and durability. Their different models allow an output ranging between 20 and 90 cubic yards per hour and are ideal for the most extreme concrete pumping, shotcrete, drycrete, wetcrete, high rise building constructions, geotechnical grouting, tunnels, parking garages and many others.

Shotcrete

Shotcrete, or spraying concrete, can be done with most REED Concrete Pumps and all REED Gunite Machines. The concrete pumps can be used in wet-process shotcrete and the Gunite machines are used for dry-process shotcrete.

• With "wet-process shotcrete" a low-slump concrete mix is pumped with a Concrete Pump to the end of the pipeline where a special "shotcrete nozzle" is attached. That shotcrete nozzle introduces compressed air to the concrete. This compressed air typically comes from a 165-185cfm air compressor - sold separately. The addition of the compressed air adds velocity to the concrete so it sprays out of the nozzle. This velocity, combined with the low slump of the shotcrete mix, allows the concrete to be sprayed on slopes, vertical walls, and overhead.
• Gunite, also known as "dry process shotcrete", uses a different process than the concrete pumps listed above. Gunite machines use air pressure to convey dry material from the machine through the hose to the nozzle where water is added.

Mixers

REED's powerful M2200 Pan Mixer can mix a 3000 lb batch of shotcrete / concrete materials. The M2200 will mix a 1 ton super sack (2200 lbs) of material in 3 minutes. The mixer then quickly discharges the material into the pump hopper to be either sprayed or pumped.
